Candidate- Supervisor of the Town of Clarkson
Being Supervisor for the Town of Clarkson is not about being Democrat, Independent, Republican or any other party affiliation. It is about what is best for our small town. It is about public safety, it is about protecting property values, it is about fiscal responsibility, it is about year round safety of our roads, so we can go to work and school.
My wife, Cindy, and I have called Clarkson our home for 32 years. Our three children graduated from Brockport Central School District. After college, I worked 37 years managing a very successful commercial lumber company, supervising multi million dollar projects all over NY State. I was trained to be a fiscal conservative with other people's money and to treat everyone with dignity and respect.
It is time for the Town of Clarkson to move forward with new ideas. We need transparency and improved technology, so all residents can have a voice in their own government. We need ideas to improve the usage of our parks. Our Town of Clarkson employees need health insurance for their families. Our beautiful library needs a permanent solution to their funding issues.
If elected, I will waive my 1st year salary and donate the money to the Seymour Library.
With your vote and your ideas, we will all be better.
Candidate- Town Justice
My wife and I brought our family to this area 22 years ago and watched our four children grow to adulthood. During that time I have come to appreciate the open, neighborly atmosphere of Clarkson, Sweden, and the Village of Brockport.
As a recently retired employee of the IBM Corporation, I now have the time and desire to serve my fellow townspeople as your Town Justice.
If you give me the opportunity to be your Town Justice I would strive to be fair in all matters that would come before me.
Candidate- Clarkson Town Board
As a resident of Clarkson for the past 19 years, I believe that Clarkson has a bright future under the right leadership. I have been actively involved with my community through youth sports, church, and Scouts. My children have attended Brockport Schools, and I was active in the MOMS Club of Clarkson, the Brockport PTSA, the Lakeside Twig Association (Prairie Fire) and as a volunteer youth coach with Hamlin Recreation. I have also taught Religious Instruction at Nativity BVM for the past 13 years to enrolled 4th and 5th grade students. Recently, I was elected to the Nativity BVM Parish Council for a three year term. Volunteering in my community is a part of my DNA. With your help, I am ready to take the next step.
My current job as a Program Counselor for a NYS Education initiative involved writing a grant which secured my Program $450,000 funding a year for the next 5 years. I will use my experience in grant writing to secure additional funding for projects in the town, helping to keep taxes low while adding much needed services for Clarkson families.
With advances in technology, town board meetings should be accessible to all residents via the internet, with meetings live-streamed to the web using online platforms. This will increase transparency and will allow residents to fully engage in the political process, and not be shut out. If elected, I will utilize my computer/internet literacy to increase voter engagement in Clarkson. Voters that are engaged, vote and participate in the democratic process. When everyone is brought to the table, we all benefit with fresh ideas.
I promise to be a voice for ALL of the people of Clarkson, not just the chosen few.
Candidate- Clarkson Town Board
My husband and I have lived in Clarkson since 2003, and in Brockport before that. I recently retired from serving as the Postmaster of Brockport, and would like to continue to serve my community as a member of the town board. As Postmaster, I was responsible for working within budgets; keeping the public informed of all changes in the postal system, and addressing any and all individual customer concerns. I feel I was quite successful at those tasks, and feel confident that I can provide similar services to the residents of Clarkson. It would be an honor to be given the opportunity as a town board member.
